According to ADI's official website, on September 18, local time, US chipmaker Analog Devices (ADI) said it had signed a strategic cooperation agreement with India's Tata Group to jointly explore opportunities to produce semiconductor products in India.
Earlier, Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of Tata Group, said it would invest $14 billion to build India's first semiconductor wafer factory in Gujarat and a chip assembly and testing factory in Assam. It is reported that the construction of the semiconductor factory was approved by the Indian government earlier this year.
ADI said in a statement that Tata Electronics and ADI plan to explore opportunities to produce ADI products at Tata Electronics' factories in Gujarat and Assam. In addition, Tata Group will also use ADI's products in Tata Motors' electric vehicles and Tejas Networks' telecommunications infrastructure.
